The call for entries for the 8th Red Electric Innovation Competition, sponsored by Xiamen Hai P Rui Technology Co., Ltd., has officially begun. The final of the competition is scheduled for July 19, 2025.

Red Electric Innovation Competition This is a unique and influential innovation event in China's power energy industry. Since its inception, the competition has placed great emphasis on industrialization, innovation, and marketization. Investment and financing institutions and power grid companies are also deeply involved, providing technological research and development support and financial support for participating projects to help them achieve industrial development.

Currently, the following projects are being solicited:

2. Internationally leading technology - New lightning protection power supply system

3. Internationally leading technology - AI-based power encryption edge gateway TG465 power grid digital operation and maintenance solution

4. Domestically leading technology - Intelligent inspection robot

Entries are ongoing. The feast of power innovation awaits your participation! The relevant matters are notified as follows:

Entry Requirements

■ Participating projects should comply with national industrial technology policies, have a high level of innovation and strong market competitiveness, and have good economic and social benefits. Possess complete intellectual property rights, no intellectual property disputes, and strong technology results transactionality;

■ Mature projects should submit proof of project advancement, such as patent certificates, novelty search reports, test reports, user reports, and other relevant materials;

■ All projects entering the national finals can voluntarily participate in the 4th Xiamen International New Power Grid Equipment Exhibition and enjoy member prices;

■ Participating projects sign a unified action plan with the organizing unit for jointly applying for scientific and technological projects and applying for scientific and technological awards.

New energy power generation grid connection technology; AC/DC hybrid distribution network technology; new DC transmission equipment technology; new flexible transmission and distribution equipment technology; source-network-load-storage integration and multi-energy complementary integrated design technology; multi-user intelligent supply and demand interaction technology; intelligent operation and maintenance technology; energy storage technology equipment and system integration technology; common key technologies for energy storage batteries; distributed energy storage and distributed power source collaborative aggregation technology; intelligent sensing and intelligent measurement technology; energy big data and cloud computing technology; energy Internet of Things technology; key and difficult points of mechanized construction of transmission, substation, and distribution projects; new power quality monitoring, analysis, early warning, and auxiliary decision-making technologies; research on upgrading of frequently failing equipment and operation status tracking and control technology; UAV-mounted device technology.

Competition Process and Schedule

■ Project Solicitation (Deadline: June 30, 2025): Participants fill out the entry registration information on Hongdian Observation and WeChat Official Account.

■ Expert Review (July 1-5, 2025): The preliminary selection of competition projects is based on the innovation of the projects. The review committee selects innovative project participants to enter the semi-finals.

■ Online Voting (July 5-15, 2025): The semi-finals are comprehensively evaluated through online voting and expert review, organized by the competition organizing committee. Based on the online voting and expert review scores, excellent projects are selected to enter the final.

■ Final (July 19, 2025): Through project report and defense review, the awards are determined based on the final comprehensive scores.
